5Good value - sizing runs large  May 06, 2010
By Randy
Received this after much deliberation on what to purchase. Decided on this brand based on price vs features. It's well put together, with good attention to detail.

The Velcro at the wrist does not allow the sleeve to be cinched tightly to keep out wind. It's a minor thing to move it or add another piece of Velcro. The brass zipper is much more smooth than plastic zippers on other coats I have. The included button-in liner makes it great for colder weather, and the fabric itself is heavy enough to keep you comfortable without the liner for chilly spring mornings. Without extra layers, I wouldn't recommend this for frigid weather at all. If I had to make one complaint, it would be that the one upper bellows pocket isn't as large as preferred. Not a deal breaker, but it would be nice to have the ability to put more in.

Regarding the sizing, it does run large. I normally purchase size large in coats. Based on other reviews I almost purchased this in a small, but at the last minute I decided to try a medium and hope for the best. I'm glad I did - a small would have been snug with the liner, and would have been uncomfortable with an added layer. The medium fits me exactly as a Columbia parka sized large. The sleeves are long enough to cover part of my hands when standing normally, and part of the cuff folds out to cover even more if needed. This would make it great when it's cold enough for gloves.

Overall, if you're looking for this style of jacket without spending the money for an authentic military surplus, I highly recommend this one.

4Sizes are deceiving  Oct 02, 2010
By Triarchic
The quality of this jacket is actually quite high considering the price. However the sizes run WAY too large and I strongly recommend you purchase TWO full sizes below what is listed. For instance I am usually a Medium and I purchased a Xsmall and it is still a large fit.

For those of you attempting a urban military or milspec./hipster look this is a very clean cut and "fresh" jacket. It is not distressed in anyway shape or form. This is a positive in my book so as each individual can utilize the jacket as a personal canvas.

Over all this jacket is great except for the horrible sizing issue. If not for the sizing problems I would rate this item 5 stars.

4Nice Product - Way Too Large  Jan 06, 2012
By Tesoro
Very well made jacket... great price and it includes the liner, which others offered in this medium don't include. The zipper is heavy duty, and the material is very tough. Make sure you get at least 1 size smaller than usual. I'm a XL so I ordered a Large and it was still too large. I had to get this jacket in a medium to get the right fit. No regrets, excellent jacket for winter and if you remove the liner you can use it any time of year. The sizing issue made me give it only 4 stars.

5NICE Jacket  Nov 08, 2011
By Nick
The m65 field jacket made by Rothco is definitely warm enough for Chicago winters which are quite cold. When I ordered I wasn't sure if it was going to be fairly a warm jacket or more so, and it is more so, quite def a "winter" jacket. I have bought Rothco bomber jackets from Amazon before and the zippers are very similar to the one on this.Kind of heavy duty as it says in the description though semi smooth like they won't fall apart and are loud. I ordered the x large because I usually wear 2x and maybe sometimes rather would wear 3x and the 1x is a good fit. I'm over six feet tall and still overweight but I did listen to the other reviews. One weird thing is that mostly it fits fine but that for some reason the zipper comes down to only the top of my belt. It's a longer length jacket which with the zipper only doesn't cover that much. There aren't as many buttons for the liner to connect with as there are button holes but maybe it's like that for a good reason? I am happy with my purchase and would suggest this purchase for somebody who needs a nice looking and solid winter coat.

5Great deal, runs large  Jan 15, 2012
By MBarnes
For future buyers, I'm 6' 170lbs and the extra small is the best fit. This jacket runs extremely large. The medium was comically big, and the small was still baggy.
