Early review Dec 03, 2009
By P. Zazow Just received my tuner and I like the way it operates: easy to read, accurate I think and picks up the low E much better than my last tuner - an Intelli. However, as indicated in the 1 star review already posted by someone else, I'm concerned about it's durability, given those light-duty plastic rings encircling the spring pin. In fact, the first one I received came broken right out of the box right at that spot. I received a replacement today, which so far seems fine.

Great little tuner Jun 22, 2009

Very nice item - the fact that it flips from red to green when in tune speeds up its use onstage. The single best thing about ANY of these headstock tuners is not subjecting the audience to your tuning - the audience doesn't need to and SHOULDN'T hear you tuning. The Planet Waves is also very sensitive - I've been using a seven string for 23 years now, and most of the headstock tuners can't handle it. This one can.

The best!! Jan 04, 2010
By kathleen this tuner is awesome. i have tried several other types of tuners and this one is sooo much better! it's so quick and easy. Within only one or two plucks of each string, i'm there. The display is easy to read and it works great in any environment, bright, dark, loud...doesn't matter and it's so small, i can easily tuck it away for travel. i highly recommend this tuner!

bad design- beware Nov 22, 2009
By P. Wehner The single part that must carry the most stress is the weakest component on the whole device. The clothespin design relies on a tiny metal spring. The ends of the spring connect to two little holes in the clip. One of these holes cracked in half. The first time I used this it broke. Very disappointed with this.

17 months old and broken Dec 23, 2010
By D. M. Nickoloff I really liked this little tuner for 16 months. It replaced a more expensive and clunkier clip on tuner that's battery box door cracked. Tonight I went to clip the tuner on an electric guitar in my living room (only used it at home) and the hinges broke off. Here's a clue engineering guys...spring loaded hinges made of plastic are probably NOT such a good idea!
**Update** 01-25-11 - In fairness to Planet Waves and D'Addario, after inspecting the failure, they stood behind their product and replaced the tuner. Thank you.
