Nice little gadget Nov 05, 2007

I'm new to guitar playing and bought this to help tune my guitar. The additional features were a plus that pushed me to buy this particular model. For aprx. $30 dollars getting a 5000 chord dictionary, a metronome and tuner was a good deal. The tuner works effectively and I've checked it against other tuners and it does a good job. The backlighting is good but you need to hold the device at the right angle to see what is displayed. The instructions aren't great but you'll get the hang of the buttons by reading what is offered. The metronome works well and helps you keep the beat or practice keeping the beat. The overall workmanship is ok but could be a bit tougher. The buttons feel firm and responsive. Overall, I'm satisified.

Great product at a better price here than everywhere else. Jul 26, 2008

Much better navigation than the old version. The backlight works really well. Has everything you need in a nice little package. You will want to get a bag to put it in to avoid scratching the screen. I found this cheaper than all the music sites.

Above-average metronome and chordmaster... Mar 25, 2008

This is a good little product. I bought it off Amazon requiring all three. The Chordmaster works well, and the metronome, too. The metronome has three flashes and then a red one and beeps at you. It's easy to follow enough -- I don't need anything exotic. However, the main issue that arises with this item is the tuner. The tuner is too sensitive and tends to go crazy, even in absolute silence. As a result, I had to go buy a solo electronic tuner. Just beware of this...

Planet Waves Chordmaster review Sep 14, 2010
By Duke012 I got this Chormaster like one week ago, I decided to buy it to see how it works. Since the moment I got it I started playing with it, found the chords library very useful and the metronome works fine, plus the size you can carry it everywhere you want, however I also noticed that this tuner is not the most efficent I have used or seen (so be aware if this) it keeps going back and forth when I try to tune the strings and sometimes it shows nothing. I thought it was broken or something, but reading other comments about it I found that some other users experienced the same issue.
In conclusion if you want to buy a useful and practical chord library this is a good option, the metronome works pretty well, but you may wanna buy a separate tuner.

It's OK for a multi-purpose device. Mar 20, 2010
By Racer72 The construction of this tuner is fine but it does need to be closer to the guitar to function well and it still oscillates slightly even with the string in tune. The metronome is a beep style, not the option I prefer, but it works. The chord library is a nice feature, but that's not the reason I bought it. The one thing I really don't like about this device is that you cannot adjust the volume and it is relatively loud when I am practicing in a quiet environment.
