Great Value, A Bit Under Engineered Apr 27, 2010
By Lionel R. For the price, this light is a good buy. Great for tight quarters. And with colored lenses, can be used for a variety of purposes. The red lens for example is great for night illumination when you still need to see without a light; as it doesn't effect your night vision as bad as a bright beacon of white light might. It has three switch positions: off, flash, and on. In the flash position, there is a button that when depressed shines the light. Think pulse function on your blender. This is great for signalling or if you need illumination for a brief moment.
The build quality on this light is good for the price, but it feels a bit under engineered for rugged use. The plastic it is made from is a bit thin. While sturdy to the touch, I don't have complete confidence in it's being able to take whatever I throw at it. There is a clip on the back which is screwed right into the body with two screws; it hasn't happened and doesn't threaten to happen, but I get the hunch it might not take entirely too much for the clip to be ripped out.
This light is great for many circumstances and remains a great value, but I wouldn't condone this light for tactical or overly rugged use. It is small enough to throw in a glove box, tool box or trunk and is great to have on hand. It is well suited for camping, hunting, or just going into the crawl space of your house.

Good for the price May 11, 2008

This flashlight lasted me through basic training and AIT; this is the kind sold on military posts (~8 months; batteries ran out once i returned home). The colored lenses are useful for these kind of things (red light for light discipline; less visible). This can be useful outside of military for things like hunting and camping.
It is not nearly as powerful as a LED light, but its strong enough that you can read at night. It can take rain, but probably not total submersion into water for too long. For a plastic flashlight it is pretty durable.
Downsides: Its not bulky, but its not small either. Its about 12 inches in height and about 2 pounds with batteries.

cameo flashlight Apr 10, 2007
By R. Parker Placed order and received it within ten days. No Problems. Flashlight works and no complaints. Arrived exactly as described no surprises. Even came with some colored lenses which the kids have a blast with at night and it holds up to their abuse. Good Product

FALSE ADVERTIZEMENT Mar 23, 2012
By E. Casares The flash light IS like the military style, the "flashlight" is made in china as such on the box it says it needs "1" C-Cell battery, it actually needs two it also states "INCLUDES 4 LENSES AND A SPARE BULB", this is an outright LIE ONLY 1 Bulb AND ONLY one lens. it is also not rugged it one drop and goodby "flashlight" only when the order IS MADE does it come back to you and it tells you it is a TOY. The flashlight lights but due to the c cells only on a small area, one more point, as a retired MILITARY I have used the real flash lights, they use D-Cells and are issued with a plastic red and green cover filter for the flashlight head.

Didn't know it's a toy... Mar 01, 2011
By Kal-el When I was shopping for a flashlight, this product didn't show up as a TOY. So here I thought I was getting a real military grade flashlight, instead I get a miniature version of it. Hope the seller changes the description stating what the product really is, and specify the tags not under survival/outdoor/camping gear.and cost just as much to return. do not buy.
