Great (little) tuner for the gadget-savvy! Nov 21, 2009
By Kara D. Peterman I'm an engineer and thus attracted to flashing lights. I'm also a clarinetist and thus attracted to small, easily portable, sensitive tuners! This little tuner is fantastic--it is smaller in diameter than one of those pink containers of bubble gum tape from your childhood and equally lightweight. It has three different visual modes so that you can use whichever method best suits you. I like the mode that spins until you are in tune (when it gradually slows down) and am constantly surprised as to the sensitivity of the LEDs. If you aren't really sure what the different modes are all about, I encourage you to visit the Korg website--they have a wonderful video showing off the DT-4 and what makes it unique.
You cannot find a better price than here at Amazon.com and after choosing "super saver shipping" I received the tuner the day after I ordered it! Amazing...

Korg DT-4 Dec 08, 2009
By Joseph Armstrong I've been using a Sabine MT-9000 for several years, using it in its 'chromatic tuner' mode. Being a trombonist, the Sabine never had the ability to discern notes sounding near the bottom (and beyond) of the bass clef staff.
I learned about the Korg DT-4 from a tubist, and a tubist obviously 'works' with 'low notes'. My Korg 'hears' (immediately!) ALL the notes on my trombone.
The tuning display is easily seen from across the room.
In my home, I have a harpsichord and the occasional 'touch-up' tuning on this instrument is very easy with my DT-4. As with my trombone, the 'lower notes' on my harpsichord were extremely difficult (if not impossible) for my Sabine to 'hear', but no problem at all for the Korg DT-4.
The Korg is a great 'tuner', and a bargain at the price!!
UPDATE . . . . I usually use my Korg DT-4 with the 'Mirror mode' (for tuning) selected. This 'mode' is maintained when I turn 'off' the DT-4. (Pretty nice!) When I turn the tuner 'on', 'Mirror mode' is ready and functioning. It's not necessary to re-select 'Mirror mode'.
Several days ago, the 'mode' was defaulting to the 'Strobe mode' when the tuner was turned 'off'. Then, I noticed the tuner was cycling 'off' while I was using it. I imagined serious problems with my DT-4.
Then, I realized there is not a 'low battery' indicator anywhere on the tuner. So . . . I replaced the batteries that originally came with the machine, and . . . presto! . . . the tuner is back to 'normal'.
So, for me, the 'low battery' indication will be when the selected 'mode' is not maintained, and when the tuner face goes blank during use.
I continue to love the tuner! I use it everyday.

Korg Tuner AWESOME May 11, 2009
By Brendan Patti I am a 16 year musician and have used many different tuners. This tuner is small, attractive and very functional. I would highly recommend it. I needed it next day but decided to wait because Amazon was the cheapest. Amazon did have the best price. I found it online elsewhere for almost $70!

More real estate on my pedalboard..... Jul 17, 2008
By 'Net Shopper I bought this tuner for two reasons. One, it has a accuracy of better than +/- 1 cent. Two, it has a really small footprint, yet it is bright and easy to see on dark stages. The tuner seemed a bit sensitive at first, but after tuning up a few times, it became quick and easy. It locks right in on the note once you're used to the sensitivity. I took one star off because I would have liked it to have a DC power input in addition to the AAA battery power (so I could leave it on all the time), and, the tuner is made entirely of plastic. However, it is so small, that I am able to place it on a reasonably well protected place on my board. The battery is lasting well, and the tuner turns itself off after 10 minutes if it doesn't sense any input. I have a separate tuner/mute loop, so, if I don't get back to tuning for 10 minutes, the tuner just switches itself off. The only small inconvenience is that I have to bend over and push the "on" button when I go back to tune. Given the tuner's size, decent accuracy, and price, its a small adjustment for me. I love the Peterson tuner for its quality and accuracy, no doubt. But if you don't want to shell out 200 bucks for a tuner and you really want to make some more space on your board, this is a great option.

You can see it! Aug 18, 2009

"note finger"
I've just received my tuner today and it the BEST tuner out of the half dozen that I've owned. It's small but highly legible in the dark. The DT-4 large, colorful displace is very easy reading for these aging eyes. It fun to keep it turned on while playing. Cheap light show. It's also inexpensive. Go buy one, in fact buy 6, one for each string. That would look real purty on a darken stage. I guess the only con would be that a guitar can be plugged in but there is no out to an amp. Doesn't bother me
